ED, CBI Take Action On People Before They Join BJP: Mumbai Mayor

Mumbai: Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar criticised BJP for allegedly using central agencies to settle political scores. “ED, CBI and IT Dept take action against people and if they join BJP, they get clean,” said Pednekar.

Addressing a press conference in Mumbai, Pednekar said, “ED, CBI and Income Tax department take action against people and if they join BJP, they get approval.

On BJP MLA Nitesh Rane’s alleged remark that ‘if you remove police force for 24 hours we will show you’, he said, “If you remove EDCBI for 24 hours we can show you too. Though we are democratic Let’s do things the way they do. And we will continue to do so.”

Responding to Union Minister Narayan Rane’s statement, he said, “We have not instigated anyone and they say they have evidence, they will give it to CBI, so why are you stopping?”

Earlier on Sunday, Union Minister Narayan Rane, who appeared before Mumbai Police in Disha Salian’s death case, alleged that Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar instigated Salian’s mother, after which she filed a defamation case.

Rane and his MLA son Nitesh Rane appeared before the Mumbai Police on Saturday in connection with the death of Disha Salian. The interrogation continued for about nine hours at Malvani police station.

Rane told media persons during Malvani police, “We were released only after I called Amit Shah. Our statement was recorded then that Disha Salian did not die by suicide but was murdered. Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar provoked Disha Salian’s mother after which she complained stating defamation.”

“After the demise of Sushant Singh Rajput and Disha Salian, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray called me twice urging me to say it was not a Minister’s car. This is an attempt to pressurize us,” had said the Union Minister.

The father-son duo had allegedly made derogatory remarks against late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s former manager Disha Salian.

A case was registered against Narayan Rane and Nitesh Rane on February 27 for allegedly spreading false information about Salian’s death. Salian’s mother had registered a case under sections 500, 509 of the IPC and section 67 of the Information Technology Act.

In the FIR copy, Disha’s mother alleged that her daughter was defamed by these politicians while making statements about late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Salian died on June 8, 2020 following which a few days later on June 14, actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his residence in Mumbai.
