Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman To Present India’s views on Digital Economy Taxation In G20

Mumbai: A government official said that at the end of this month Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present India’s views on the taxation of the digital economy at a meeting of G20 finance ministers and central bank governor.

The Economic Cooperation and Development Organization (OECD) will present a report on the taxation of the digital economy in Fukuoka, Japan, in the two-day meeting that begins on June 8, in which more cooperation will be sought among the nations. India is actively participating in OECD-G20 efforts to create a global consensus on the taxation of the digital economy.

The G-20 Finance Minister is likely to discuss global economies, risks and challenges, and also to discuss ageing and its policy impacts. Strengthening health financing can also come to the discussion to ensure infrastructure for investment, flexibility against natural disasters, and health for all in developing countries.

The G20 is made up of 19 countries and the European Union. 19 countries are Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Germany, France, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, UK and America.
