FIR Filed Over Sexual Harassment Of Delhi BJP Woman Spokesperson

Mumbai: A case of sexual harassment was filed after the Delhi BJP complained that a woman spokesperson of the party was being defamed through a video posted on social media. The party said the video insulted the spokesperson’s modesty electronically.

He said the matter came to light after a complaint was made by the Delhi unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party that the video was posted electronically with false information to insult the modesty of the spokesperson.

The complaint also stated that “the link to the video was intended to damage the reputation of the spokesperson by putting the name of the spokesperson and defaming him publicly.”

An FIR was registered at Cyber ​​Police Station in the New Delhi district under sections 354A (sexual harassment) and 509 (insulting a woman) of the Indian Penal Code and 67 (transmitting obscene material electronically) of the IT Act. A senior police officer said that the investigation into the matter has been started.

According to the sexual comments made in the complaint, offensive remarks were made about the spokesperson, which had nothing to do with the content of the link, in order to hurt his reputation.

It has also been alleged that a group of people have been harassing women spokespersons of the BJP for the last two-three months and the party has requested action against the perpetrators, the police said.
