Get To Bomb Shelters As Quickly As Possible: Ukraine Authorities To People In Kyiv

Mumbai: An air alert has been declared in and around the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv, with residents urged to get to bomb shelters as quickly as possible, Associated Press reported.

In a statement on Telegram, regional leader Oleksey Kuleba said: “Kyiv region – aerial warning. Missile attack threatened. To give shelter to everyone immediately.”

In addition, an airstrike alert has also been issued in Zhytomyr and Vasilkiv.

The warnings of airstrikes in Kyiv come amid fierce fighting, while Russian military advances have been halted in some areas, including Kyiv.

Ukraine’s Defense Ministry officials said cities facing increased hostilities included the Polesia and Volyn Oblast operational districts, as well as the settlements of Nizhin, Vinnytsia and Trostinets along Ukraine’s state border.

On Wednesday, Russia promised to allow people to build five humanitarian corridors to flee major cities under attack from Vladimir Putin’s forces.

The head of the Russian National Defense Control Center said these humanitarian corridors would exit from Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv and Mariupol.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has urged NATO to impose a no-fly zone on Ukraine, saying additional warplanes are needed to protect its airspace.
