Goa Extends Curfew Till 7 am On July 26, Shops To Remain Shut From 7 pm To 7 am

Goa's coronavirus caseload rose to 120 and reached 1,69,740 on Sunday, while two patients died and 219 were discharged during the day

Goa: The Goa government on Sunday extended the COVID-induced lockdown till July 26 and announced new relaxations across the state. The lockdown was extended in view of the coronavirus situation in the coastal state.

According to the notification issued by the state government, the curfew issued in Goa has been extended till 7 am on July 26.

Bars and restaurants across the state will be allowed to open with 50 per cent of their seating capacity. Religious places will be reopened for the general public but only 15 people will be allowed inside the premises at a time.

As per the new guidelines, gyms can operate with 50 per cent capacity. Shops and malls will be able to open from 7 am to 6 pm.

Schools and colleges will remain closed while cinema halls will also remain closed.

During the previous relaxation, shops were allowed to remain open from 7 am to 6 pm. Saloons and outdoor sports complexes/stadiums were also allowed to remain open.

Meanwhile, Goa’s coronavirus caseload rose to 120 and reached 1,69,740 on Sunday, while two patients died and 219 were discharged during the day.

So far 3,111 people have died in the state and the number of recoveries stands at 1,65,067, taking the active caseload to 1,562.

With 4,540 samples tested in the last 24 hours, the number of tests in Goa has gone up to 10,02,033.
