Govt Orders Blocking Of 67 Pornographic Websites

Mumbai: The government ordered internet companies to block 67 pornographic websites following court orders and for violating new IT rules issued in 2021. The government ordered the blocking of 63 websites based on a Pune court order.

In an email shipped off network access suppliers, the Division of Telecom (Dab) has requested that they block 63 sites in view of the request for a Pune court, and block 4 sites in light of the request for the Uttarakhand High Court and headings gave by the Service of Hardware and IT (MeitY).

The IT Rules 2021 conjured by MeitY commands IT organizations to eliminate or cripple admittance to content facilitated, put away or distributed by them which “shows such person in full or fractional bareness or shows or portrays such person in sexual act or conduct” and also content which is allegedly impersonated or artificially morphed.
