Mumbai: Due to the massive shortage of vaccine doses, India has forced several states and Union Territories to float global tenders for the jabs.
However, After Mumbai, Delhi and Karnataka, now Haryana has followed suit and announced that they will procure the vaccines from abroad to meet the demand.
State Home Ministers Anil Vij said that “We will float global tenders to purchase Corona Vaccine for the people of Haryana so that free vaccinations could be provided to 18+ citizens of the state at the earliest.”
Earlier, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) yesterday has issued a global tender to procure 1 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses to vaccinate citizens in Mumbai as the Centre is unable to supply the doses.
Meanwhile, Haryana on Wednesday has reported 165 deaths due to the Covid19 infection, taking the state’s fatality toll to 6,075; 12,490 more cases pushed the overall caseload to 6,52,742.
