Heavy Rain Causes Waterlogging In Parts Of Mumbai; Public Transport Affected

Mumbai: Heavy overnight rainfall led to waterlogging in several parts of Mumbai on Friday, including Sion and Gandhi Market areas. 

The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) diverted buses due to waterlogging in some of the low-lying areas. 

The Central Railway also announced that trains on the harbour and slow lines were running 20-25 minutes late due to waterlogged railway tracks.

“Chief Public Relations Officer, Central Railway, said “Slow line traffic between Kurla -Vidyavihar have been diverted on the fast line. The Harbor line is also running 20-25 minutes late. Trans-Harbor line traffic is running smoothly.”

Due to heavy rains and waterlogging near Chunabhatti station, the railway track is getting waterlogged.

Meanwhile, the Regional Meteorological Centre, Mumbai has predicted “light to moderate rain with isolated heavy falls at isolated places over the city and suburbs” for the next 24 hours.”
