India-China Relationship Can’t Be Normal As Border Situation Is Not Normal: Govt

Mumbai: External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar, on Friday, said that India’s relations with China can’t be normal as the boundary circumstance between the two nations isn’t typical.

Talking in Bengaluru, that’s what Jaishankar said assuming China upsets the harmony and peacefulness in line regions, it will affect the relations between New Delhi and Beijing. He likewise expressed that there is an infringement of India’s territorial integrity and sovereignty as China, a third country is doing ‘things on Indian territory occupied by another country’ – Pakistan.

“We have kept up with our place that assuming China upsets the harmony and peacefulness in line regions, it will affect our relations. Our relationship isn’t typical, it can’t be normal as the boundary circumstance isn’t normal,” Jaishankar said.

He stressed that India has extensive connectivity projects with other neighbouring countries such as Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal.

“There was a violation of our territorial integrity and sovereignty, the fact that a third country is doing things on sovereign Indian territory occupied by another country… The big problem is the border situation, our military has been holding on to the ground. We have made substantial progress in pulling back from places where we are very close,” Jaishankar said.
