India Releases Statement After Kabul Blasts, Condemns The Attack

PpMumbai: The External Affairs Ministry has released a statement after the blasts outside Kabul airport that killed at least 60 civilians and 13 US troops.

The MEA said that the attacks reinforce the need for the world to stand unitedly against terrorism.

“We extend heartfelt condolences to families of victims of this terrorist attack,” the MEA said.

More than 60 people were killed and about 150 injured in twin blasts in the Afghan capital Kabul on Thursday evening. At least 12 US military personnel were killed and 15 injured in explosions at Kabul airport, where various civilians are being evacuated.

Meanwhile, India Thursday evacuated 35 people, including 11 Nepalese nationals, but could not take around 140 others, including Afghan Sikhs and Hindus, who could not reach the Hamid Karzai International Airport due to restrictions imposed by the Taliban.

New Delhi has already evacuated more than 800 people since the Taliban captured Kabul on August 15.
