India Reports 2,541 COVID-19 Cases In 24 Hours, Active Cases Rise To 16,522

Mumbai: India has reported 2,541 COVID-19 cases, 1,862 recoveries and 30 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

With the new infections, the total number of cases in the country has gone up to 4,30,60,086 which includes 16,522 active cases. Active cases are 0.04 per cent of the total cases.

Of the fresh cases reported, Delhi has 1,083 cases which are 57.37 per cent of the cases reported in the country. The one-day increase of 30 deaths took India’s death toll to 5,22,223, government data said.

The Health Ministry also informed that 1,862 people have been cured in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of people cured to 4,25,21,341. India’s recovery rate from COVID-19 currently stands at 98.75 per cent.

Further, the government data said that a total of 83.50 crore COVID-19 tests have been conducted so far, of which 3,02,115 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours.

In these figures, the daily positivity rate in the country was seen at 0.84 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate was recorded at 0.54 per cent.

On the vaccination front, 187.71 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination campaign.
