India Reports 25,920 New COVID-19 Cases, Over 4,800 Cases Less Than Yesterday

The active COVID-19 caseload has registered a decrease of 40,826 cases in a span of 24 hours

Mumbai: India has reported 25,920 new COVID-19 cases and 492 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

With this India’s tally of COVID-19 cases rose to 4,27,80,235, while the active cases dipped below three lakh after 43 days.

The death toll rose to 5,10,905 with 492 fresh deaths, data updated at 8 am. The daily COVID-19 cases have come down below one lakh for 12 consecutive days.

The ministry said the active cases declined to 2,92,092, comprising 0.68 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate further improved to 98.12 per cent.

The active COVID-19 caseload has registered a decrease of 40,826 cases in a span of 24 hours.

According to the ministry, the daily positivity rate was recorded at 2.07 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate was recorded at 2.76 per cent.

The number of people cured of the disease rose to 4,19,77,238, while the death rate was recorded at 1.19 per cent.

The cumulative doses administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination campaign have exceeded 174.64 crores.
