India Should Be Ready To Launch 6G Services In 10 Years: PM Modi

Mumbai: PM Narendra Modi has said that India should be ready to launch 6G services in the next 10 years, adding that a task force has already started work on it. In a bid to commemorate the event, PM Modi also released a postal stamp.

The PM also launched a 5G testbed on the special occasion, which will enable a supportive ecosystem for Indian industry and startups, helping them validate their products, prototypes, solutions and algorithms in 5G and next-generation technologies. as stated in a press release. PMO.

The 5G testbed has been developed as a multi-institution collaborative project by a total of eight institutes led by IIT Madras. Other institutions participating in the project include IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Bombay, IIT Kanpur, IISc Bangalore, the Society for Applied Microwave Electronics Engineering and Research (SAMEER), and the Center of Excellence in the Wireless Technology (CEWiT). The project has been developed at a cost of over crores of rupees. 220 crores.

The Prime Minister also addressed the event and explained the efforts being made by the Central Government in the technology sector and how 56 technologies will improve the economy of India.

He said, “It is estimated that in the coming times, 5G will contribute $450bn to the Indian economy… By the end of this decade, we should be able to launch 6G services, our task force is working on it. ”

The Prime Minister said that indigenous 5G testbeds in the telecom sector are an important step towards India’s self-reliance and connectivity will determine the country’s progress in the 21st century.

PM Modi also pointed out that mobile manufacturing units in India have expanded from 2 to over 200 and teledensity internet users in India are expanding at a rapid pace.
