Indian Air Force’s MiG-29 Fighter Aircraft Crashes In Punjab

Mumbai: A fighter plane of the Indian Air Force crashed in Punjab. The Indian Air Force said, “The MiG-29 fighter plane crashed near Hoshiarpur district in Punjab today. The pilot ejected safely.” The pilot was rescued by helicopter.

The exact cause of the accident is not yet unknown.

However, the IAF stated that the fighter jet developed a technical snag, resulting in an accident “The pilot is completely fine,” said an official.

“The aircraft had a technical fault and the pilot safely fired because it was unable to control the aircraft,” he said.

“A MiG-29 aircraft met with an accident on a training mission from the Air Force base near Jalandhar. The aircraft had developed a technical snag and the pilot ejected safely as he was unable to control the aircraft. A Court of Inquiry has been ordered,” the IAF said in a statement.

According to officials, the aircraft took off from Adampur Air Force Base in Jalandhar. Two fire tenders were put into action to extinguish the fire. An Air Force official said the aircraft was on a training mission.
