International Flights In India To Remain Suspended Till July 31

Mumbai: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has said that scheduled international commercial passenger services to/from India shall remain suspended till July 31.

“In partial modification of the circular dated 26-06-2020, the Competent Authority has extended the validity of the circular issued on the above subject in respect of Scheduled International Commercial Passenger Services up to 2359 hrs IST on 31st July 2021. This restriction shall not apply to international all-cargo operations and flights specifically approved by DGCA,” the fresh order reads.

However, this restriction will not apply to international all-cargo operations and specifically to flights approved by the aviation regulator.

All scheduled international flights were banned on March 23 last year in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and the ban continues. However, for seamless movement of passengers, India operated various international flights under bilateral air bubble agreements with several countries.

It also said that international scheduled flights may be allowed on selected routes on a case to case basis by the competent authority.

India has signed air bubble agreements with 27 countries including the US, UK, UAE, Kenya, Bhutan and France. Under an air bubble agreement between two countries, their airlines can operate special international flights between their regions. However, some countries like America.
