Its Humiliating, Shiv Sena Leader Sanjay Raut Slams BJP For Seat Change In Rajya Sabha

Mumbai: In view of providing the fifth row in Rajya Sabha, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut written a letter to Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, protested a sudden change of seat. Raut Accused BJP and said that it is “deliberately” moving him to “humiliate” Sena sentiments. The letter was brought up during the third day of the Parliament Winter Session.

“I was surprised to learn that my seating position in the RS room changed from 3rd to 5th row. This decision was taken by someone deliberately to hurt the sentiments of Shiv Sena and suppress our voice, “Raut wrote in the letter that BJP will take deliberate steps in light of the recent break-up between Shiv Sena-BJP alliance in Maharashtra.”

Pointing out that he was a senior member of the Upper House since 2004, Raut said, “I have also failed to understand the reason for this improper move as there was no formal announcement about his removal from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).”

He further said that the move was deliberately made to “humiliate” him and his party. “This decision has affected the dignity of the House. I request us to allot 1/2/3 row seats and maintain the House Decorum.

After a nearly 20-day tussle between the ruling ally BJP and Shiv Sena in Maharashtra to form the government, the two parties announced their divorce as they had previously complied with Shiv Sena’s demand for a 50 -50-power-sharing formula was refused.
