Karnataka CM Urges Workers To Avoid Unnecessary Travel

Mumbai: Karnataka’s Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Tuesday requested the workers to stay back and avoid unnecessary travels as the construction activities and other economic activities will be resumed.

‘#COVID19 situation in the state is under control as compared to other states. Due to this, the travel of migrant workers was prohibited. Now, trade, construction and industrial activities need to restart, except in the red zones,’ said CM Yediyurappa.

While addressing to media after a meeting with Confederation of Real-Estate Developer Association of India (CREDAI), he said the labourers need not need any rumours.

‘Directions given to ministers to convince workers to not return to their native states. Builders will provide workers with necessary facilities as construction activities will resume. They should not pay heed to rumours& avoid unnecessary travel,’ he added.

Karnataka government had temporary stopped interstate travel of migrant labourers. CM also assured that the labourers will be taken care of by the builders.

Many state governments are sending back migrant labourers to the native state through ‘Sharmik Special’ trains.
