KR Ramesh Kumar In Stifle, BJP Might Bring No Confidence Motion

Mumbai: After forming government in Karnataka,  BJP is contemplating bringing a no-confidence motion against the assembly Speaker KR Ramesh Kumar, if he does not voluntarily vacate the post, party media reports said Saturday.

“We will move the no-confidence motion against the Speaker if he himself does not resign,” a ruling BJP MLA told PTI requesting anonymity.

The legislator added, “Our first agenda is to win the confidence motion and get the finance bill passed on Monday. We will wait and see whether the speaker steps down on his own.”

In the sudden incidents, the BJP led by BS Yeddyurappa came to power on Friday, whose chairman K R Ramesh Kumar disqualified three Congress MLAs, Ramesh Jarkhiholi and Mahesh Kumarharalli and disqualified MLA R Shankar.

The Speaker had even hinted that in a couple of days, he will take a decision on the remaining MLAs, including three of JD (S).
