Maharashtra Reports 2,436 New COVID19 Cases On Friday, State Tally Reaches To 80,229

Mumbai: A health department statement said that 2,436 new coronovirus patients were reported in Maharashtra on Friday, taking the number of cases in the state to 80,229.

139 COVID-19 patients died during the day, leading to 2,849 deaths.

Of the 139 deaths on Friday, 93 were from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), including 54 from Mumbai city.

After recovery from hospitals in the state, 1,475 patients were discharged, taking the number of recovered patients to 35,156.

So far 5,22,946 people have been tested for the virus. Maharashtra currently has 42,224 active patients.

Of the 139 deaths recorded on Friday, twenty-seven deaths occurred in the last two days, while 112 deaths occurred between April 21 and June 2, the statement said.

Of the 112 deaths, 41 were from Mumbai.

There are 83 laboratories that are testing for COVID-19 in the state. The number of coverage areas is 3,479.
5,45,947 people are in domestic quarantine while 30,291 are in institutional quarantine.

The state capital, Mumbai, has 46,080 coronovirus cases and 1,519 deaths. The major MMRs recorded 60,604 cases and 1,903 deaths.

The statement said that there were 7,877 cases and 364 deaths in Pune city, 1,132 cases and 88 deaths in Solapur city, 1,735 cases and 88 deaths in Aurangabad city, 777 cases and 66 deaths in Malegaon city.
