Maharashtra Reports 63,729 New COVID-19 Cases In Highest Single-Day Spike
Mumbai: Maharashtra on Friday reported 63,729 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the highest single-day surge in cases the state has seen since the pandemic began. The earlier record was set for April 11, when the state reported 63,294 new infections.
With 398 new deaths, the state death tally has risen to 59,551.

Thursday’s spike took the state’s total number to 3,703,584, while the number of people recovered reached 3,519,208, with 45,335 recoveries recorded in the last 24 hours
Amid stricter restrictions imposed across the state, over 2.72 lakh tests have been conducted, the state’s bulletin revealed.
Mumbai in the last 24 hours reported 8,803 fresh infections and 53 deaths. Pune reported 11,047 cases and 47 death, followed by Nagpur with 6,395 cases and 23 deaths.
