Mamata Banerjee Hits Centre, 50 TMC MLAs To Campaign Against Modi Govt Over COVID19

Mumbai: While the whole country is fighting with Coronavirus Pandemic, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee seems busy with centre for a political fight over COVID19. 

It has been reported that Mamata Banerjee has planned to launch a campaign against the Narendra Modi government.

As per media reports, around  50 party MLAs will campaign against the Centre’s handling of COVID-19 situation from May 13.

TMC leader and Chief Minister’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee, political strategist Prashant Kishore, and state education minister Partha Chatterjee held a meeting with legislators yesterday through video conferencing.

Legislators have been asked to use social media platforms at the center to deal with the coronavirus crisis and highlight the situation in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state of Gujarat, in the states most affected by the COVID-19 epidemic. It is one of them.

The Center and the TMC government have been at loggerheads for some time over the withdrawal of migrant workers among the COVID-19 crisis and other issues.

On Saturday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah alleged in a letter that West Bengal was not allowing trains to accompany migrants and termed it as “injustice” to these laborers. 

Shah’s letter raising the issue of “non-cooperation” by the state government drew flak from Mamata Banerjee-led party which accused him of spreading lies.
