Mamata Banerjee In Goa: Not Here To Capture The Power But To Help People When They Face Problem

Reacting to BJP leaders remark on bidding elections in Goa, she said that she is an India and can go anywhere

Mumbai: West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC chief Mamata Banerjee on Friday said that she didn’t come to Goa to capture the power but to help people when they face problems.

“I am just like your sister I didn’t come here to capture your power. It touches my heart if we can help people when they face trouble. You will do your job, we will just help you in the process,” Mamata Banerjee addressed the TMC party leaders in Panaji, Goa.

She further said that her party wants Goa to be a strong state just like West Bengal, adding that she is an Indian and can go anywhere.

“Bengal is a very strong state. We want to see that Goa is a strong state for the future. We want to see the new dawn of Goa. Somebody’s questioning ‘Mamata Ji is in Bengal, how will she do it in Goa?’ Why not? I’m Indian, I can go anywhere. You can go anywhere,” said the TMC chief.

Mamata’s reacted to the attacks by BJP leader Saumitra Khan on Thursday stating that TMC is a ‘drama party’

The leader said, “Trinamool Congress is a drama party, which do not have any existence outside Bengal but they will try to fool the people of India as they have fooled the people of Bengal. But I know that the people of India will not accept them. If Trinamool Congress gets even two per cent votes in India, outside West Bengal, then it is a big deal.”

Banerjee added, “I believe in secularism. I believe in unity. I believe India is our motherland. If Bengal is my motherland, then Goa is also my motherland.”

After winning in West Bengal, the All India Trinamool Congress has decided to bid for the contest in the 2022 Goa assembly elections.

Goa goes to elections in February next year along with other states like UP, Uttarakhand, Punjab, and Mizoram.
