He Soesn’t Realise That We Are Not Going Anywhere,” Congress Slams Prashant Kishor’s BJP Remark

Prashant Kishor had said that even if the people throw Narendra Modi out, the BJP would remain at the centre of Indian politics

Mumbai: Congress in charge of Tamil Nadu, Goa and Puducherry Dinesh Gundu Rao has hit back a day after poll strategist Prashant Kishor took yet another dig at Rahul Gandhi, saying he doesn’t realise that grand old party isn’t going anywhere.

“It’s only BJP which wants to end Congress and some like Mr Kishore dream that Congress will not exist. He doesn’t realise that Congress too isn’t going anywhere,” he said in a tweet.

Rao added that in a democracy all political parties will exist.

While interacting with the media in goa, Prashant Kishor on Thursday said that even if the people of this country throw Narendra Modi out, the BJP would remain at the centre of Indian politics for the next many decades.

The Congress in Goa also accused the TMC of entering the poll fray in the state in order to “divide secular votes and give a mileage to the ruling BJP”. They further alleged that Kishor’s remarks exposed the Mamata Banerjee-led party’s agenda.

Meanwhile, the BJP said that the entire country agrees with the comments of Prashant Kishor.

Former Meghalaya Governor Tathagata Roy called PK’s statement a clever trick and said, “Beware. These are just clever tricks to get the BJP to relax and lower their guard. PK did it successfully in West Bengal.”

Leader of the Congress party in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury also alleged that Kishor had helped the TMC in the assembly poll this year and the BJP in the 2014 general election.

Terming the remark as a conspiracy they wondered if the remarks indicated any back-channel understanding among the poll strategist, the TMC and the BJP.

He added that the TMC should explain if it is helping the BJP by opposing Congress.
