MEA Urges Indians Stuck In Afghanistan To Contact Special Afghanistan Cell

Kabul: The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has urged all the Indians in Afghanistan who require the Indian government’s assistance to contact the MEA’s 24×7 Special Afghanistan Cell immediately.

The ministry’s spokesperson Arindam Bagchi shared the contact details of MEA’s special cell on Twitter

MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi in a series of tweets stated, “We urge all Indian nationals in Afghanistan requiring assistance to contact our Special Afghanistan Cell immediately, if not done so already.”

Notably, over 200 Indian nationals stranded in Kabul have sent an SOS to the authorities in New Delhi for rescue. They have taken shelter in a marriage hall near the airport and urged the Indian government to vacate them at the earliest.

Syed Abid Khan, one of the Indians stranded in Kabul, shared pictures of Indian nationals awaiting their rescue. About 280 people, including women and children, are waiting in a wedding hall near Kabul Airport.

Several Indians have sent SOS from Kabul, Afghanistan in the midst of the ongoing crisis to rescue them. Several flights are taking off and taking various civilians out of Afghanistan.

The 280 Indian citizens are waiting for a green signal from different authorities so that they can be airlifted very soon. C-17 Globemaster is ready for evacuation. The rescue procedure is taking place at a fast pace.
