Mumbai: Ten people were nabbed for allegedly tying a man to a tree after which four of the accused gang-raped his wife in front of the rest in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar, police said on Friday.

According to the complaint lodged by the victim’s family, he was returning home from his in-laws’ house with his wife when 10 people stopped him.
Police said they took the couple to a nearby mango orchard where the husband was tied to a tree, while the four accused raped his wife in front of the other six.
SP (city) Arpit Vijayvargiya said that 10 accused, including two minors, have been arrested by registering a case at New Mandi police station on Thursday.
According to Station House Officer (SHO) Pankaj Panth, the woman has been sent for medical examination and her statement will be recorded before a magistrate under the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) section 164 very soon.
