MP Govt Imposes Lockdown In All Urban Areas From Friday 6 pm To Monday 6 am

Mumbai: In wake of rising COVID-19 cases, Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced that there will be a lockdown from 6 pm on Friday to 6 am on Monday in all urban areas of the state

State Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan informed that the administration is also building containment zones in major cities.

The CM informed that Constant Crisis Management Group meetings are being held. “My intention has never been to lockdown, but to control the situation, it is compulsory to implement it at a small level,” Shivraj said.

The number of beds in the hospitals of the state will be increased to 1 lakh. “We have tied up with Bhilai Steel Plant and have started getting additional oxygen,” he added.

The CM has appealed to the people that people’s support is needed to deal with the coronavirus crisis. “This is a test, be restrained, be patient. We will fight and win,” he urged.

He told that the government is procuring Remedesivir Injection, affirming that there is no shortage of medicines in hospitals.

Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh yesterday reported 4,043 new coronavirus cases, taking the infections tally in the state to 3,18,014. With 13 more fatalities, the death toll has climbed to 4,086, the state health department said.

With 33,419 new tests, the total number of samples tested for coronavirus in the state has so far crossed 65.95 lakh.
