Mumbai NCB Busted A Clandestine Drug Unit With 111Kg Poppy Straw In Nanded

The NCB Mumbai zonal director Sameer Wankhede has informed this case wasMumbai registered as crime no.99 of 2021

Mumbai: Narcotics Control Bureau on Monday launched an operation at Nanded district of Maharashtra and seized a total of 111 Kg of poppy straw.

The Clandestine drug unit was busted at the Kandhar area of Nanded district.

Along with the poppy straw, 1.4Kg of opium, Rs 1.55 lakhs, 2 grinding machines, used for poppy seed grinding & an E-scale note counting machine was also seized during the raid.

The NCB Mumbai zonal director Sameer Wankhede has informed that 3 people have been intercepted. NCB Mumbai registered this case as crime no.99 of 2021, Wankhede added.

Further operations are underway to nab the suppliers.

Earlier this month, NCB had seized 1,127kg of drugs in the Nanded district.

“Mumbai NCB seized 1,127 kgs consignment this morning in Nanded district. It was being brought from Andhra Pradesh to Maharashtra. Two people intercepted, they will be produced before the court. This consignment was booked for Jalgaon district but was intercepted and seized in Nanded. A probe is on,” Wankhede said while speaking to media persons on November 15.
