Nawab Malik’s Judicial Custody Extended Till April 18

Mumbai: A special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court has extended Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik’s judicial custody till April 18 in Mumbai on Monday.

Earlier, the special court had allowed Malik to be provided with home-cooked food and medicines during his custody period. The Nationalist Congress Party leader was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case.

Advocate Nilesh Bhonsle said, “Nawab Malik was produced in the court today, his judicial custody has expired, which has now been extended till April 18. He has requested for food and medicines at his home and his Postponed till arrest.” It has been declared illegal and illegal. It has been challenged as unconstitutional.”

The court had also allowed them to be provided with a bed, mattress and chair during their judicial custody.

NCP’s Mumbai unit chief and guardian minister of Parbhani and Gondia districts, Malik is in judicial custody in a money laundering case involving underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.

He was arrested on 23 February.

The Bombay High Court had denied any interim relief to Malik and refused to pass an order for his release from judicial custody.
