Need Just One Word Of Sympathy: Kapil Sibal To PM On Lakhimpur Violence

Mumbai: Senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for being silent on the Lakhimpur Kheri violence that took place on October 3, in which eight people, including four farmers, were killed.

He tweeted, “Modiji, why are you silent? Had you been in opposition, how would you have reacted?” He also asked the PM to show sympathy towards the victim of the violent incident in Lakhimpur Kheri. Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday expressed solidarity by meeting the families of Lakhimpur Kheri victims amid the uproar over the Lakhimpur Kheri violence.

A total of eight people, including four farmers, were killed in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence on October 3.

Uttar Pradesh Police on Monday registered a case of murder against Ashish Mishra, son of Minister of State Ajay Mishra. It is alleged that on October 3 (Sunday), Ashish hit the protesting farmers in his car in the Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh.
