No Need To Panic, Measures Taken To Deal With Coronavirus: Karnataka Govt

Mumbai: Following the recent outbreak of Coronavirus in all country, Minister of Medical Education K Sudhakar said that there is no need to panic as appropriate measures have been taken by the state government to tackle a possible coronavirus disease.

Sudhakar told reporters, “I request the media not to spread panic and help the government to deal with any possible coronavirus outbreak. With the help of the Center, we have taken all necessary precautionary measures to deal with any situation.”

Talking about the previously confirmed case in Telangana, which closed in Bengaluru, the minister said, “23 people travelling with him from his flatmates and Karnataka are being investigated. The state ( Both Karnataka and Telangana) governments are taking care of them.”

He said, “Out of 295 samples collected so far, 240 samples have been tested negatively. We are waiting for more results so far. There are two laboratories. One is at RGICS and the other is at the Bengaluru Medical College where the tests are being conducted Huh.”

On Monday, the first confirmed case of a novel coronavirus in Telangana was reported from Hyderabad when a 24-year-old man, who came in contact with some citizens of Hong Kong while he was in Dubai on 17 February, tested positive for the virus.

The Health Department has also issued an advisory to all educational institutions.
