No Omicron Patient Required Oxygen Support So Far: Delhi Health Minister

Mumbai: Not a single Omicron patient has required oxygen support so far in Delhi, Health Minister, Satyendar Jain, said.

COVID-19 positivity rate in Delhi is at around 1 per cent with 496 new cases reported in the national capital yesterday, said Health Minister Satyendar Jain.

Addressing the press conference, Jain urged people to be more careful.

Delhi recorded the highest number of 238 omicron cases, followed by Maharashtra with 167, Gujarat 73, Kerala 65 and Telangana 62.

This comes after a ‘yellow alert’ was imposed in the national capital, under which schools, colleges, cinemas and gyms were ordered to remain closed, while shops of non-essential items were allowed to open on an odd-even basis. permission was granted. Permission was granted.

The Delhi Disaster Management Authority also extended the night curfew for an hour from Monday night and will now start from 10 pm till 5 am.

Seeing the rise in omicron cases, authorities in Delhi began genome sequencing of samples of daily COVID-19 cases on December 22 to find out whether the new variant has spread in the community.

As per the ‘Level-1’ alert under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), private offices will function with the physical presence of 50 per cent staff, except in essential categories.

Attendance of 20 people will be allowed in marriages and funerals, while all other types of gatherings related to social, political, cultural, religious and festival events will be banned with immediate effect under ‘Yellow Alert’.

Shops of non-essential goods and services in markets and malls have been allowed to open from 10 am to 8 pm while restaurants will be permitted with 50 per cent of capacity from 8 am to 10 pm.

Bars can also operate with the same capacity, but from 12 noon to 10 pm.
