North-East Is Growth Engine Of India, Says PM Modi In Manipur Rally

Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday slammed the Congress for “making fun of the culture of the northeastern states”. He said that for the BJP in the northeastern states if it is the engine of development of the country.

Addressing an election rally in Manipur’s Hingang, the Prime Minister criticized Congress leaders for making fun of the culture of Northeast India.

“Congress leaders come to Manipur and make tall claims but in other states make fun of the dress and culture of Northeast India. Congress divided Manipur between hills and valleys and did politics on it. They never worked on developing and improving connectivity in the region.”

He further said that the NDA government believes that the Northeast region is the engine of India’s growth. PM Modi said that inequality is the result of decades of Congress rule in Manipur.

He said, “The BJP government has made the impossible possible. Every area of ​​Manipur has got relief from the bandh and blockade. On the other hand, Congress made bandh and blockade the main feature of Manipur. The BJP government has written a new chapter of change for Manipur, taking everyone forward. The youth has given up arms and is coming forward to lead the development surge,” he added.

The next phase of voting in Manipur is scheduled for March 5, and the counting will be held on March 10.
