PM Inaugurates 22 Developmental Projects Worth ₹4,800 Crore In Manipur

Mumbai: PM Narendra Modi on Tuesday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 22 developmental projects worth over ₹4,800 crores in Manipur’s Imphal. PM Modi, while addressing a gathering, said the projects will make the lives of Manipur’s people easier.

“In Manipur, the Prime Minister will inaugurate 13 Projects worth around Rs 1,850 crores and lay the foundation stone of nine projects worth around Rs 2,950 crore,” the official release said.

These projects are related to various sectors like road infrastructure, drinking water supply, health, urban development, housing, information technology, skill development, art, and culture, etc.

He is scheduled to travel to Agartala to launch two major development initiatives and inaugurate the new Integrated Terminal Building at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport. Elections to the 60-member Manipur Assembly are expected to be held in March this year.

According to the PMO, he will also lay the foundation stone for the construction of five national highway projects to be built at a cost of over Rs 1,700 crore.

“The construction of these highways with a cumulative length of more than 110 kilometers, will be a major step to improve the road connectivity of the region,” it said.

The prime minister will also inaugurate a steel bridge built over Barak River on NH-37 built at a cost of over Rs 75 crore. This bridge will enhance seamless year-round connectivity to Silchar from Imphal and reduce traffic congestion.
