PM Modi Gives 8 Croreth Free LPG Connection To Ayesha Sheikh Of Aurangabad

Mumbai: On Saturday while addressing a function organized on the occasion of completion of the Ujjwala Scheme the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi handed the 8 crores free LPG connection to beneficiary Ayesha Sheikh from Aurangabad.

During the speech, Modi said that the resolution the government had taken to provide the 8 crore LPG gas connections under Ujjwala scheme to those who didn’t have them had come to an end 7 months before the target date. He said that about 44 lakh LPG connections were distributed in Maharashtra.

He further went on to congratulate every woman who was now smoke-free. He said, “I congratulate all of you, every sister of the country who has been freed from the smoke for the achievement.” He also added that he felt satisfied to complete the scheme on the 100th day after the party coming into power.

The Ujjwala scheme that was launched on 1st May 2016 from Ballia in Uttar Pradesh initially had the target of reaching 5 crore connections by March 2019, but the later the target was increased to 8 crore connections by March 2020. For the scheme to come into action, ten thousand extra LPG distributers were appointed in the rural parts of the various states. He also said that the work of delivering gas pipes had a better pace in many parts of the country.
