PMC Bank Scam: Worried Over Son-In-Laws’ Money Stuck In Bank, A Woman Dies Of Heart Attack

Mumbai: Normal life has been disrupted since the PMC Bank crisis took place many of the customers have lost their lives whereas one more death has been reported the victim has been identified as Bharti.

An elderly woman, Bharti, whose son-in-law Chandan Kotarani had deposited a large sum of Rs 2.5 crore with the scamster bank, suffered a heart attack and died on Monday.

Chhotrani told ANI that Bharti was worried about her money being blocked by the bank and would inquire about it daily.

The depositor has a savings of Rs 2.5 crore with the bank and is now unable to withdraw due to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) deposits.

At least two more people with accounts in the bank, died in Mumbai earlier this week.

The organization had initially withheld deposit withdrawals of Rs 10,000 but later increased it to Rs 40,000.

Last month, RBI banned the activities of PMC Bank for six months and asked it not to grant or renew any loans and advances, make any investments or incur any liability, including an alleged scam. The latter involves borrowing funds and acceptance of new deposits. 4,355 crores came to light.
