Prostitution Racket Operating From Hotel Busted In Noida, 6 Held

Uttar Pradesh: Noida Police busted a prostitution racket operating from a hotel in Sector 62. At least six people, including the hotel owner and a Chandigarh-based woman, have been arrested.

According to the police, the business of prostitution was going on from a hotel located in Sector 62. In this connection, six people including the hotel owner and a woman from Chandigarh have been arrested. The arrested people have been identified as hotel owners Manoj Kasana, Shankar Kumar, Devesh Kumar, Rahul Tripathi, and Durgesh Kumar, who are residents of Delhi-NCR. Around Rs 37,600 in cash, 12 mobile phones, and a Volkswagen car have been seized from the accused.

The gang was led by a hotel owner and a woman from Chandigarh. The accused lured the customers through social media and arranged for them women from different states. “They will share a commission. For this, four rooms on the first and second floors of the hotel were being used. Another accused Shankar Kumar in his white Volkswagen car (DL12 CM- 4487) used to bring women from different places,” a report in The Times of India quoted SHO Anil Rajput of Sector 58 police station as saying.

The police registered a case under sections 370A(2) (exploitation of a trafficked person) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956.

This comes a day after the Delhi Police busted a fake call center operating in the national capital and arrested eight people, including the kingpin and two women. A total of six laptops, eight CPUs, and a router have been recovered from the accused.

The Delhi Police said the gang’s kingpin, identified as Ravinder Singh, was an employee of a similar call center earlier. He stole CPUs from his workplace after his salary was withheld. He thereafter started his own call center using the data stored in the CPUs.
