Mumbai: The Directorate of Health and Family Welfare in Puducherry said on Friday that there have been 1,195 new COVID-19 cases, 654 discharges and 11 deaths in Puducherry in the last 24 hours.
The number of people infected with the virus in the union territory is 58,622. Of the total cases, 48,298 people have been discharged after treatment, while so far 805 people have died.
The current number of active cases is 9,519. The Union Territory’s COVID-19 recovery rate is 82.39 per cent while the fatality rate is 1.37 per cent.
India registered 3,86,452 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours. This is the highest single-day spike in cases since the epidemic began last year.
