Punjab Chief Minister Provided Loan Relief Over 1 Lakh Farmer

Mumbai :  In the recent development, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has provided loan relief to 1,09,730 eligible farmers in four districts against the commercial banks of Rs 1771 crore

The process will be completed by Saturday, the amount will be transferred directly to the marginal farmers’ bank accounts of commercial banks. The farmers belongs to the Patiala, Ludhiana, Sangrur and Fategarh phases.

While addressing the function, Chief Minister said that, “In next phase farmer having land of 2.5 to 5 acres would get debt waiver towards both cooperative and commercial banks.”

“Rs 2 lakh had been given to all the marginal farmers and also to small farmers who had availed loan upto Rs 2 lakh under the scheme” Amarinder Singh said.

“Nearly Rs 1815 crore of 3.18 lakh farmer of cooperative banks had been wavied off in first phase” Singh added

In third phase they would cover as much as small 2.5 lakh farmers of Coorperative Banks, were 50752 small farmers of Commercial Banks wil get covered in fourth phase, Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh announced.

Expressing his concern over the problem of duplicate seeds, agro-chemicals and other inputs reaching farmers, he said that his government is maintaining strict, 24X7 alertness to check the sale of this kind of product.
