Rajasthan Crisis: Congress Suspends Two Rebel MLAs

Mumbai: The Congress party on Friday suspended rebel MLAs Bhanwar Lal Sharma and Vishvendra Singh for allegedly conspiring with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and sent a show-cause notice for their involvement in trying to depose the Rajasthan government.

Addressing the media spokesperson, Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala said that the Modi government is ‘conspiring’ to encircle Congress MLAs in Rajasthan instead of fighting the coronavirus pandemic to grab power.

“Yesterday the media was shown shocking tapes in which Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, BJP leader Sanjay Jain and Congress MLA Bhanwar Lal Sharma talked about bribing MLAs and toppling the Rajasthan government,” he said.

Hitting out at the former Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister, Surjewala said that Sachin Pilot should come forward and make public his stand on the allegations of providing the list of MLAs to the BJP.
