Rajasthan Govt Gives ₹15 Crore Aid To Disaster-Hit Himachal Pradesh

Mumbai: Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that the Rajasthan government has provided ₹15 crore to help carry out relief work in the disaster-hit state.

According to him, the state has incurred losses of around ₹10,000 crore due to rains, floods, and landslides during the monsoon season.

“An assistance of Rs 15 crore will be given by the Rajasthan government to help the people suffering from the difficult situation created by heavy rains and landslides in Himachal Pradesh,” Mr. Gehlot said in a post on X, formerly called Twitter.

According to Mr. Gehlot, in these difficult days, the people of Rajasthan support the people of Himachal Pradesh. This comes after Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel stated earlier in the day that the state will receive 11 crore in financial aid due to the floods.

According to Himachal Pradesh officials, 22 people have died alone in Shimla, bringing the state’s total number of rain-related fatalities since Sunday night to 75.

Since Sunday, the hill state has seen heavy rains, which have caused landslides in Shimla and numerous other areas. According to the state emergency operation center, since the beginning of the monsoon on June 24, 217 people have perished in rain-related accidents in Himachal Pradesh and 11,301 homes have suffered partial or whole damage.

A total of 506 roads are still closed in the state and 408 transformers and 149 water supply schemes have been disrupted.
