Russia-Ukraine War: 130 Russian Buses Ready To Evacuate Indian Students

Mumbai: 130 Russian buses are ready to evacuate Indian students and other foreigners from Kharkiv and Sumy in war-torn Ukraine.

Russian National Defense Control Head Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev said, “A total of 130 comfortable buses are ready to leave from Nekhotyevka and Sudzha post in the region since 6 AM today in order to rescue Indian students and citizens of other foreign states.”

Mizhintsev said that places have been made at the checkpoints for temporary accommodation and rest. Hot meals will be provided to the refugees; He said that along with a stock of medicines, mobile clinics have also been set up there.

“The evacuated people will later be taken by Russian military aircraft to the city of Belgorod so that they can leave for their homeland,” the general said.

His statement comes a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Russian President Vladimir Putin and discussed the safe evacuation of Indians from conflict zones in Ukraine.

Earlier this week, Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla said that around 8,000 Indians, mainly students, are stranded in Ukraine.
