Salaries Of UP Govt Employees Will Not Be Cut: Yogi Aditynath

Mumbai: The Uttar Pradesh government said that the salaries of its employees would neither be postponed nor cut between the coronavirus lockdown and its impact on revenue.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has clearly stated that the state of the state’s economy is strong and it will tackle the challenge posed by the epidemic, Additional Chief Secretary Avnish Awasthi told reporters here.

Awasthi quoted the Chief Minister as saying that there would be no deduction or omission in the salary of the state government employees.

The Chief Minister believes that in this hour of crisis when he has asked private agencies to give full salary to his employees, then it is the responsibility of the state government to give salary to its employees also.

Several states including Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan and Telangana have announced deferment of payment of full salaries to the chief minister, officers and employees, saying their revenue streams have dried up due to the ongoing lockdown to combat coronavirus.
