“Such letters have no merit…My husband is not wrong, we will not tolerate this,” Kranti Redkar after NCP Leader Nawab Malik shared a letter claiming fraud within Narcotics Control Bureau.

The Maharashtra Minister for Minority Affairs and Skills Development Nawab Malik on Tuesday claimed that he received a letter from an unnamed Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) official with a list of people who have been framed in false cases. Also Read: Mumbai Lawyer Seeks FIR Against NCB’s Sameer Wankhede, 4 Others On Extortion Charges

Kranti said that they are not crorepatis but simple people. She added her husband Sameer is an honest officer and people want him removed from his position.

“Why should we go to court? Those levelling allegations against us should go to court. We are not ‘crorepatis’, we are simple people. Sameer is an honest officer. Many people wish that he should be removed,” she said.

Kranti further added, “I have been given police protection as our family is receiving death threats… A lot of people may benefit if Sameer Wankhede is removed from his current post at Narcotics Control Bureau.”

The letter alleged that advocate Ayaz Khan extorts money from Bollywood actors and gives it to Wankhede and in return, the NCB official asks the Bollywood artists he catches to hire Khan as their lawyer.

In the letter, Sameer Wankhede is described as an “attention-seeking” officer. It is also being claimed that Wankhede implicates innocent people in false NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) cases.

Malik has continued to hit out at Wankhede since his son-in-law Sameer Khan was granted bail in a drug case. The NCP leader addressed a press conference accusing Sameer Wankhede of imposing a false case.
