Shiv Sena, Congress And NCP Are United, Committed To Run The Government For Five Years

Mumbai: In a veiled attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Shiv Sena leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut on Monday said attempts may be made to create problems among the allies of the Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government, but it won’t work as they will remain united in power for the five-year tenure.

“Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP are united, committed to run the government for five years. Outsiders who want to form the government and are restless after losing power can try, but the government will continue. Attempts may be made to create cracks between Congress, NCP and Shiv Sena, but it won’t work,” ANI quoted Raut as saying.

Speculations of a rift between the MVA allies have been rife ever since the Maharashtra Congress announced that it would fight alone in all the upcoming elections in the state.

On Sunday, MP Sanjay Raut had said that the Shiv Sena has fought the political battle on its own and indicated to the Congress that it will take on the oldest party if it comes to that.

He said, “Yesterday was the party’s 55th foundation day. Chief Minister and our party chief Uddhav Thackeray told people who are speaking of contesting elections alone in Maharashtra, that if they do that what will we do? Will we keep sitting? Those who want to contest, let them do it,” Raut had said.

His remarks came after Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole last week said that his party would fight all upcoming elections separately.
