Six States Accounts For 85.91 pc Of New Coronavirus Cases

Mumbai: The Union Health Ministry on Thursday informed that six states including Maharashtra, Kerala, Punjab, Karnataka, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu accounted for 85.91 percent of new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours.

In the last 24 hours, 22,854 new cases were registered. Maharashtra has the highest number of daily new COVID-19 cases at 13,659 (about 60 percent of daily new cases). Kerala follows with 2,475, while Punjab has 1,393 new cases reported.

India’s total COVID-19 active caseload has reached 1,89,226 today. The current active casolead in the country now accounts for 1.68 percent of India’s total positive cases.

There were 126 deaths in the last 24 hours. The percentage of new deaths in six states is 82.54. Maharashtra has the highest number of accidents (54). There are 17 deaths daily in Punjab and 14 deaths in the last 24 hours in Kerala.

Nineteen states / UTs including Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Odisha, Goa, Jharkhand, Puducherry, Lakshadweep, Sikkim, Ladakh have not reported any COVID19 deaths in the last 24 hours.
