Sonia Gandhi Attacks BJP Over Privatisation of Coach Factory, Says Govt Employees Not Getting Salary

Mumbai: Critizing Modi and his government UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi said that government employees are not getting salaries to benefit some industrialists.

Speaking during the budget session of the 17th Lok Sabha, Sonia Gandhi said, “Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru had called the PSU ‘Temple of Modern India’. It is sad to see that most of the temples are in danger today.”

“Despite the profits, their employees are not receiving salaries on time and they have been put in trouble for the position of state-owned telecom companies, the UPA president said,” What is happening with HAL, BSNL and MTNL? There is no secret. I urge the government to protect the modern coaches factory in Rae Bareli and other PSUs and respect the workers and their families.”

According to media reports, the state-owned telecom service provider, BSNL or Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, had the possibility of sacking more than 54,000 of its employees.

At least 1.76 lakh employees of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) were not paid their salary for the month of February because the state-owned telecommunications company was under financial pressure. He said to benefit some industrialists.
