State Government To Finance Expenditure In Bringing Back Stranded Migrants: Manipur CM

Mumbai: Manipur Chief Minister, N. Biren Singh said that the State government will finance the train fares of stranded migrants coming from other states.

However, the expenditure of migrants coming from Northeastern states will be borne by themselves due to the short distance.

The aid is provided to only those traveling from far away states.

Regarding the concerns over the spread of the virus from these migrants, Singh has orders to quarantine the migrants upon their arrival in the community quarantine centers arranged by concerned MLAs, local clubs, Dy Commissioners and Medical Officers.

Manipur was declared COVID free on 21st April when the second Covid-19 patient was recovered and discharged.
