Rajasthan CM Seals State’s Border To Avert Unauthorised Entries

Mumbai: Rajasthan Chief Minister, Ashok Gehlot released an order late Wednesday warding off the entry of unauthorized people into the state.

The decision of curbing its borders came after a sudden increase in the figures of novel Coronavirus on Wednesday and the concern over receiving a large number of people in the next few days as MHA has authorized the movement of migrants.

CM Gehlot had a meeting with the Health Minister and other officers and decided to seal all the interstate boundaries with immediate effect to allow the entry of persons permitted by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

He has ordered the Chief Secretary to write to the Chief Secretaries of other states regarding the same and the migrants to be allowed to travel only upon the state’s consent.

“The lives of people of our state are very important and we have to take such measures to protect them”, said CM Ashok Gehlot

The people arriving from abroad will also be institutionally quarantined for 14 days, violating which will result in legal trials.

Rajasthan currently witnesses 3,317 Covid-19 cases and 93 fatalities.
