‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ Mints Rs 61.93 Crore Over Weekend

It shows Ajay Devgan fighting for the 'Bhagwa' (saffron) flag and 'Swaraj' (home-rule) and 'Satya' (truth) of Maratha warrior Tanaji Malusare

Mumbai: Ajay Devgan starrer Magnum Opus ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior‘ did a business of Rs 61.93 in the country, mostly from western, central and northern India.

The first-day collection of the film earned 15.10 crores and 20.57 crores on Saturday and 61.93 crores on Sunday.

‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ is Ajay Devgn’s 100th film in Bollywood. The film is set in the 17th century and is a biographical period drama, based on the life of Tanaji Malusare, who fought alongside the Chhatrapati Shivaji against the Mughals.

It shows Ajay Devgan fighting for the ‘Bhagwa’ (saffron) flag and ‘Swaraj’ (home-rule) and ‘Satya’ (truth) of Maratha warrior Tanaji Malusare.

Kajol, who plays Tanhaji’s wife, Savitribai Malusare, is portrayed as a strong character who supports her in making firm decisions.

Saif Ali Khan, who plays the role of the antagonist, stands strong as Uday Bhan, a Rajput officer who works for the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. The film is produced by Ajay Devgn’s ADF and Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series, with director Om Raut.
