UK Records Biggest Daily Jump Of Omicron cases

Mumbai: The UK’s Health Protection Agency reported 12,133 new micron cases on Sunday, the biggest daily increase since the COVID-19 variant was detected in the country. This brings the total number of omicron cases in the United Kingdom to 37,101.

According to the news agency Xinhua, according to official figures released on Sunday, 82,886 new cases of coronavirus were reported in Britain. This takes the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 11,361,387.

90,418 cases were confirmed on Saturday. They are few in number on weekends. Britain recorded 93,045 confirmed cases on Friday, a record high.

There have been 45 deaths due to coronavirus in the country. The total number of deaths from COVID-19 in the UK now stands at 147,214.

Another COVID-19 ban is possible before Christmas, according to British Health Minister Sajid Javid, as the spread of the Omicron variant is a rapidly evolving problem.

Britain has reported an increase in Omicron infections, which government advisers have described as probably the beginning.

Responding to a question about the new restrictions ahead of Christmas, Javid told BBC television: “We are assessing the situation, it is moving very fast.”

“I don’t think there are any guarantees in this pandemic. At this point, we just have to put everything under review.”

According to Javid, the government reviews the data almost every hour and listens to its scientific advisers, while also taking into account how restrictions could affect broader things like business and education.

While there is still much to learn about Omicron, by the time it becomes clear, it may be too late to react, the British health minister said.
